Police are trying to trace a maroon Mark 3 Ford Escort that might have been used by burglars after a morning raid on a house in Basildon.
In broad daylight, the crooks climbed over a secure back gate and forced open the patio door of a house in Great Gregorie.
Their haul was considerably bulky.
They stole cash and equipment worth a total of £5,000 in the theft on Wednesday, October 30, between 9.30 and 11.30am.
