Thorpe Bay fencing duo Sara Green and Jonathan Bentley both enjoyed success at Brentwood's eastern region championships for epee.
Sara fought well and overcame all opposition before her to become the top ladies U16 epee fencer in the area, winning a cup and gold medal in the process.
The 15-year-old will now represent the region in the national finals, which are being held in Stoke-on-Trent next year.
Jonathan, also 15, won the under-18 epee and will now go on to represent the England youth side at an event in Bonn on November 15.
