A courageous mum today told how she rescued her daughter from their burning home.
Dawn Cuthbert rushed to nine-year-old Chantelle's aid as flames engulfed the first floor of their terraced council house in Bourne Close, Laindon.
The mother-of-two was alerted after son Alex, six, came to her to tell her he had "made a fire" in a bedroom while playing with a lighter.
