A postman suffered severe facial injuries after he was attacked by a young thug while doing his delivery round.
The assault on 34-year-old John Church happened outside Alldays newsagents in Stock Road, Billericay, on Friday.
He suffered severe injuries, including a black eye which he could not open for several days, and cuts and bruises.
