THE Blues' five-match losing run came to an end this afternoon with a 1-0 away win over Bristol Rovers.

Striker Tes Bramble returned from injury to grab the winner in the 78th minute to give Southend a much-needed win.

The three points at the Memorial Ground lifted the Shrimpers up two places to 13th in the Division Three standings.

Rob Newman's men are in action again next Saturday when they face the basement league's top dogs Hartlepool in the FA Cup first round at Roots Hall.
