Colchester will not head into the New Year on a high as they failed to break their duck at Bloomfield Road.
Bloomfield Road has proved to be an unhappy hunting ground for the U's over the years and it continued to be so on Saturday.
Goals from Richard Walker, Simon Grayson and John Murphy cancelled any chance of the U's gathering three points.

It was a case of poor defending that cost Colchester this match.
On the half hour mark Martin Bullock was allowed to run half the length of the field down the left side before passing with ease to Walker on the right.
Unchallenged, Walker unleashed a 30-yard effort that left Simon Brown stranded as it nestled in the opposite corner.
Scott McGleish failed to notice the danger at the far post for Blackpool's second. Pat Baldwin had put in an inch-perfect tackle but his follow up was badly judged and resulted in a free-kick.
Richie Wellens' long cross from the dead ball was nipped in by Grayson, with McGleish failing to challenge, Simon Brown was left to pick the ball out of the net.
It was Wellens again that placed the cross that was badly defended in the second half, this time it was Murphy who was left free to nod in the third.
That sounded the death knell for the U's as the Tangerines secured victory, and Colchester registered their eighth loss against a club that they haven't beaten since 1983.
Kem Izzet brought the only cheer to the afternoon for the pocket of Colchester fans that had come up to the North West coast.
His right-foot volley on the stroke of 70 minutes, from Micky Stocwell's flick on, brought silence to Bloomfield Road.
Manager Steve Whitton was all too well aware of the reasons for the defeat, he told the Evening Gazette: "The defence was not at its best today, we conceded too much possession too easily."
