Canvey, Southend: Cyclist leaves hospital

A Canvey man who was seriously hurt when his bicycle was in collision with a car has gone home from hospital.

The 21-year-old, who has not been named, was left in a critical condition after the accident at the junction of Hamstel Road and Vaughan Avenue in Southend.

He was taken to Southend Hospital with serious internal injuries.

A spokesman for Rayleigh road policing unit said: "We are pleased to say the man has returned to his home on Canvey."

Witnesses to the collision, which happened at 4pm on Tuesday, December 17, should call Rayleigh police on 01268 775533.
