The three youngsters, who have not been named, were arrested after this gas powered BB gun was recovered.

Danger - the BB gun thought to have been used in the attacks

Police said the gun was capable of smashing windows and endangering life and have issued a warning to anyone caught in possession of any such weapon.

All three are being dealt with by officers - but it is not yet clear if they will be prosecuted or warned.

Among the offences reported in the town, police were told how a car window had broken over a very young child, causing it to be traumatised.

A spokesman for the police warned of the dangers to life that could be caused.

He said: "We would like to stress that these weapons are not toys and therefore parents need to be extremely wary if their children are in possession of or have purchased one of these weapons."
