Soccer: Purfleet sign off with Shots

It is not often that a final game of the season that has no bearing on promotion or relegation attracts a bumper crowd.

But tomorrow Purfleet will surely surpass their best figure so far of over 600 -- against Canvey -- when league champions Aldershot are the visitors.

Colin McBride's team have lost just one of their last ten games and could welcome back the ageless Jimmy McFarlane to the heart of the defence following a couple of weeks out with a knee injury.

Purfleet's other experienced defender John Purdie -- between them the pair have totalled over 700 appearances -- remains a doubtful starter.
