Health chiefs have revealed two possible locations for Maldon's proposed multi-million pound community hospital.

Maldon and South Chelmsford Primary Care Trust plans to invest £20 million and build a new hospital to replace the ageing St Peter's Hospital in Spital Road.

The two sites being considered are next to Wycke Hill and south of Limebrook Way.

They have been narrowed down from four sites after a lengthy public consultation.

Mike Harrison, chief executive of Maldon and South Chelmsford Primary Care Trust (PCT), said: "The PCT continues to negotiate options on two sites in the Maldon area. Once the options are agreed with the two local landowners, a comprehensive assessment will be made to help identify the preferred site."
