Crime squad detectives seized £100,000 of amphetamines during a drugs raid in Basildon.
Officers made six arrests following the swoop at a house in Langdon Hills. An Essex Police spokeswoman said: "This raid shows we are not prepared to put up with drugs in Essex."
Two women, aged 25 and 46, and four men, aged 18, 27, 31 and 46 were quizzed on suspicion of possessing the drug with intent to supply. They were later released on bail until March 4.
The seized substance, known as speed, is believed to have a street value of up to £100,000. It will now be tested to confirm it is amphetimine.
