The hunt is on for the new Southend Carnival Queen for 2004.
The winner will lead the procession on Saturday, August 21, and represent the borough throughout the year.
Selection day for the Carnival Queen and her Court is February 14 and the crowning will take place on April 24.
As well as the queen, two carnival princesses will also be chosen to represent the town. To be eligible for the post you must be over 17 years of age on May 1, 2004. In addition you must have lived in the Southend borough for at least six months.
