Half of the motorists who use a notorious Canvey road break the speed limit, a new survey has revealed.
The figures emerged after residents insisted on speed checks in Smallgains Avenue, Canvey.
A 24-hour study by council officers found half of the vehicles broke the speed limit while some hit 60mph.
