Flushed out - cannabis plants discovered growing in the bathroom of a house in Grimston Road, Basildon Picture: LUAN MARSHALL
More than 30 cannabis plants and growing equipment were found in the squalid home in Grimston Road, Basildon - including some being grown in the toilet.
It is believed the class C drug was being manufactured in the house before being distributed and sold on the street.
The plants were seized along with a high-performance Mercedes sports car, reported stolen 15 months ago, which was found in a side garage of the property.
Three knives and an extendable police baton were in the vehicle, police said.
The RSPCA was called after an emaciated lizard was found collapsed on all fours in a tank in the house's kitchen.
