Students in Castle Point will welcome a classmate with a difference into lessons this month.
Pupils at Holy Family Primary School, Benfleet and Castle View School on Canvey will welcome Castle Point MP, Bob Spink who will talk about the 100 million children worldwide who miss out on an education.
These schools are two of more than 1,000 in the country taking part in MPs' Back to School Day, on April 23, part of the Global Campaign for Education (GCE) Week of Action.
Bob Spink, who is a campaigner for education for children around the world, said: "Basic education is a human right. It is scandalous that so many children have never had the chance to go to school."
A spokesman for GCE added: "It is important for our young people to realise the importance of education and the implication of a life without the chance to learn."
