Betterview Windows have been confirmed as the new sponsors of Southend United.

The Wickford-based company have agreed a undisclosed six-figure sum to support the Shrimpers over the next two seasons.

The cash injection comes at a vital time as manager Steve Tilson seeks to rebuild his squad ahead of the new season.

Betterview managing director Ron Green admitted he was delighted to be supporting the Third Division side.

"The team finished last year really well and if they can carry that on then the potential is there to be in the play offs."

Betterview, who were formed in 1994, will also have their logo displayed on both the home and away shirts next season and Green added he was confident boss Steve Tilson would bring the best out of the Blues.

"Steve's a good motivator," he said. "And we're all looking forward to next season as we're very keen football fans and we're delighted to be the new sponsors."

Betterview replace both GKC and Wyndham Plastics who shared sponsorship of the Seasiders last season.

Shrimpers deputy chairman Geoffrey King welcomed Betterview aboard.

"A two-year deal shows Betterview Window's commitment to the club and it's a chance for them to build their brand using the club's facilities."
