A Tiptree mother and son, Gisele and Paul Falltrick, were among a selected group of salon owners from around the world to attend the first Global Hairdressing Salon awards in London.

And they picked up the award for entreprenaurial spirit.

Paul, who owns four salons and an NVQ training academy in Essex, said: "To be recognised amongst 21 countries around the world as an entrepreneur representing the UK was such an honour. We enjoyed meeting all the other award winners and learned a great deal from their commitment to the industry also."

At the British Hairdressing Business Awards last September, Gisele and Paul won the Innovation of the Year Award, for innovative planning in opening the first British call centre in the hairdressing industry.
