Greenpeace activists will hold the first of a summer of Essex activities in Southend on Saturday.
They are part of the ongoing campaign against petrol giant Esso, which Greenpeace has been waging since 2001.
Greenpeace claims Esso is the No 1 global warming villain in the world.
The start of the protest is a 24-hour demonstration at Kent Elms Corner on the A127 in Eastwood. It begins at 6pm on Friday evening and continues throughout Saturday.
Greenpeace area networker Shaun Qureshi said: "This weekend we will be asking anyone who opposes Esso to simply avoid using their forecourts again. Every single tank of petrol bought from a competitor will hurt sales and the growing boycott must force an eventual climbdown."
