A boy aged five sparked a police search by hiding in a wardrobe.

Michael Iveson hid after his mother put him to bed. When Tina, 36, of Fenners Way, Basildon, checked in on him the horrified mother found no sign of her child.

She immediately began a frantic search and eventually the police were called.

For 20 minutes two Basildon police vehicles scoured the Felmore area looking for a child wandering the streets. The police helicopter unit was even informed.

The search was brought to a happy end when gran found a blissfully-unaware Michael snoring in Tina's wardrobe.
