A young boy has been airlifted to hospital with multiple injuries after a road accident.

The four-year-old boy was in a collision with a car in Blackthorn Way, Tolleshunt Knights, last night.

The Essex Air Ambulance and a road ambulance were called to the accident in the cul-de-sac.

Paramedics stabilised the boy, who was seriously injured, before flying him to Colchester General Hospital, where a trauma team was on standby.
