An agreement has been signed aimed at making the streets of Witham cleaner and greener.
Signed on the dotted line - Annie Northfield, Mayor of Witham Jackie Martin and Roger Walters with the signed agreement dealing with street cleaning in Witham.
Braintree Council met with Witham in Bloom to sign a partnership agreement, which has created five volunteer posts of litter wardens, who will patrol the town.
Roger Walters, cabinet member for the environment and highways, Mayor of Witham Jackie Marti and Annie Northfield, of Witham in Bloom, met at Witham police station to sign the new agreement.
The wardens, who are part of Witham in Bloom, the group responsible for floral displays in the town, will monitor levels of cleanliness and report litter problems so that they can be dealt with quickly and efficiently.
