A town centre trader has spoken of his frustration at burglars targeting his shop and stealing thousands of pounds of stock.
During the past month, The Emporium home and garden centre, in High Street, Maldon, has been burgled three times and proprietor Graham Powell is appealing for help to catch the raiders.
He said: "We started getting hit by burglaries last summer."
He said the most recent theft occurred on Saturday night, when a variety of flat-packed pine furniture was stolen.
Since the burglaries began last year, he has lost about £5,000 of stock, £2,000 from the past three night-time strikes.
He said: "The building which is going on next door is making it a lot easier to get in and climb over the walls. The building site is fenced of but it's not secure."
Anyone who has any information relating to the burglaries can contact Maldon police on 01621 852255
