When Kate Talha and and her husband found few traditional toys available for the under-fives, they decided to make their own.
Kate's woodcarver husband, El Tayeb, began the task, making the toys only from wood.
They opened a store near their home in Windsor and it caught on so fast it became too hard for El Tayeb to keep up so they found a manufacturer in Germany and it grew from there.
They have just opened their second shop, in St Isaac's Walk, Colchester.
Kate said: "We came to visit friends in February, liked Colchester so much and fell in love with the shop.
"We decided to take it on an impulse and it has taken us five months to set things up and get properly stocked ready for opening."
