Great Wakering Rebels' veterans and junior travelled to Colchester's impressive new £19,000 track for two major cycle speedway events.
Being staged were the National Veterans Association Individual Champion-ship and the Essex Association Under-13 Championship.
Rhys and Tom Naylor represented Rebels in the under-13s and did Wakering proud. Rhys went through the meeting undefeated.
He won through the preliminary round and then the four-rider final to be crowned County Under-16 champ.
Tom dropped only one point in reaching the final and was then extremely unlucky to crash. Even so he finished fourth and all four finalists received trophies.
In the veterans' events, also raced on a knockout basis, Tony Marsh and Tom Hughes both reached the final, coming second and fourth respectively.
Vic Duffy reached the C final, but lost to Stockport's Steve Lomas. He eventually took runners-up spot.
