They prevented Mondel from clinching a league and cup Division Two double by beating their opponents 2-0 at Eastwoodbury Lane.
The victory was soured by an injury to Legion's Lyndon Walton, who broke his leg challenging for the ball.
But in a superb display of sportsmanship Mondel asked former Football League referee Dave Axcell to bring an end to the proceedings six minute early so Walton could be taken to hospital.
Both sides will start life in Division One next season.
