Award - Harry Doncaster raised more than £250 for the charity Mencap Picture: MAXINE CLARKE
Harry Doncaster, ten, a pupil at St Anneline's RC Junior School in Lee Chapel North, Basildon, has been presented with the Citizen of the Year award by the Bishop of Brentwood.
Harry showed off his award to his classmates after receiving it from the bishop at Brentwood Cathedral.
He single-handedly rallied his friends into holding a bring and buy sale for the Blue Peter annual appeal, which this year is going towards Mencap.
His teacher, Ann Robinson, said: "Harry did really well, he had the idea of having the sale after watching Blue Peter and then got all the children involved.
"They ended up raising over £250 for the appeal."
