Leave us alone! That's the plea from two disabled pensioners, who are distraught after their car was vandalised for the second time.

Les and Queenie Richards, both 81 and living in Burrs Road, had just spent £800 on repairs to their Ford Focus car after it was badly scratched.

Now the grille and part of the fog lights were taken when it was parked outside their house.

"Our car is our only means of getting about because neither of us walk very well," she said. "It is not the money this time - although it will cost us to have the car repaired and put right - but it is the inconvenience and the worry over why someone would do this to us."

Mrs Richards said the couple used to have an old Ford Mondeo but that was never touched.

Since they have had the newer car it seems to have become a target.

"We have struggled all our lives to get whatever we can for ourselves and we came to Clacton to enjoy our last few years," she added.

If anyone saw anything or knows who might be responsible they are asked to contact police on 01255 221312.
