TRIUMPHANT Tories were today celebrating a clean sweep in yesterday's local elections, maintaining their stranglehold on the district.
Eleven seats on Rochford District Council were up for grabs, with two unopposed, and the Conservatives walked away with all of them.
The result reinforced the party's grip on the council as they now hold 32 of the available 39 seats.
