Thieves left a trail of destruction after they rampaged through a Chelmsford car park on a stereo-snatching spree.

Seven break-ins were reported in the Meadows multi-storey car park between 7pm and 11pm on Sunday, causing a total of £5,900 damage.

A blue Mercedes suffered the worst loss, with a £3,000 Pioneer navigation system stolen and a similar amount of damage caused

An estimated £3,965 worth of goods were stolen during the thefts.
