A new church in Hadleigh is hoping to outgrow its premises within months of opening.

Kings Church, with a membership of more than 70 people, is establishing a centre at the former Elim Church, in Oak Road South.

The group has met for the past five years at Leigh Community Centre, in Elm Road, Leigh, but had to find a new home following alterations to the building.

Member Gavin Dixon said: "The Elim church stopped using the building in Oak Road South a little while ago.

"We have agreed on a six-month tenancy. We envisage it will become a little bit too small for our main congregation but may use it as a satellite base."

Kings Church is part of a national denomination called New Frontiers.

Mr Dixon described the church as being charismatic and at the "lively end of the Christian Church".

To introduce the new church, members in purple T-shirts will be handing out leaflets in Hadleigh between 10am and 2pm on June 19.
