There were good performances from Essex's boys and girls in the South of England Schools' Championships over 36 holes at Maidenhead Golf Club, Berkshire.
Eleven counties competed for the prestigious individual and team titles sponsored by the NASUWT.
In the boys' event Essex were second of the 11 teams with Westcliff High's Rob Jarvis following up a morning 78 with a superb afternoon 73.
Essex also provided the individual winner in the shape of 15-year-old Jack Hiluta from Chelmsford, who is aiming for a place in the England Schools' team for international matches against Wales and Scotland on June 28.
The female Essex trio of Hannah Moul, Katie Minney and Nicola Race won the girls' crown with Katie runner-up in the individual event.
