DAVID Judge has had an extra special birthday present this year - a letter from the Queen.
But it wasn't any old letter, it was one to tell him he had been awarded an MBE for the tireless work he has done in his community over the last 30 years.
The Queen's birthday honours list was announced on Saturday and people in north and mid Essex were among those who received accolades.
Mr Judge was made an MBE for his services to Rotary International, Scouting Worldwide and the community in Essex.
He is celebrating his 66th birthday on Monday and said the honour had made a very nice present.
