The bride did get to the church on time.
Eighteen months ago, Charlotte Clark and fiancee Barry French booked St Mary's Church, Feering, for their wedding on Saturday, June 12.

But it was not until a few months ago they realised their own special day would coincide with the Feering and Kelvedon Carnival.
But all was not lost as Charlotte's mother, Margaret Clover, explained: "It had always been the plan for the wedding to take place on Saturday. But I must admit we did have a mild panic when we first found out.
"Thankfully John Papworth, who leads the carnival, is a relative and he said he could arrange to pause for us."
True to his word, Mr Papworth stopped the procession by the church so Charlotte could join Barry inside.
