A drugs courier found with ecstasy and cannabis with a street value of £2,200 has been sentenced to four years in prison.
Jailed - drugs courier Sean Pritchard
Shaun Pritchard, 25, of Sutton Road, Southend, was found with 4,000 ecstasy tablets and 1,000kg of cannabis resin.
He also had a small amount of amphetamines for personal use.
On Friday he was sentenced to four years for being involved in the supply of ecstasy, four years for the supply of cannabis resin and three months for possession of amphetamines.
The terms will run concurrently.
Sentencing at Southend Crown Court, Judge Frank Lockhart said: "You were joining in what was an evil trade.
"Nearly every day of the week I have to listen to stories of people whose lives have been ruined because of their involvement in drugs."
At an earlier hearing, Pritchard had admitted the offences but said he was only working as a courier to solve dire financial problems.
