A leading cancer charity is urging groups of friends to form themselves into fundraising groups in Essex.
The appeal is being made by David Forster, the Essex Fundraising Manager of Macmillan Cancer Relief.
He said, "We are fortunate in Essex that so many people help raise funds and do so in many innovative ways.
"When I look at the number of people who participate in our World's Biggest Coffee Morning event each year, it is tremendous. Almost everyone is affected by cancer at some point in their lives, directly or indirectly Macmillan is there to help people at this difficult time.
"It would be good to have a small number of permanent friends or supporter groups across Essex, who get together on a regular basis to help raise funds."
More information about starting a small group of Friends of Macmillan can be obtained by contacting the charity's Essex Office on 01245 345280.
