Canvey's first seafront funfair may not open until March 2005, one year later than promised.
The creation of the £500,000 island amusement park, creating up to 150 summer jobs for islanders, has become a "nightmare situation" according boss Scott Petty.
He fears rides will not arrive until the middle of the school summer holidays at the earliest.
