A £500,000 community sports project could have a bad impact on neighbours, it has been claimed.

Chase Lane Primary School, Dovercourt, wants to build changing rooms, a multi-gym, office, toilets and an all-weather sports pitch.

There would also be fencing, gates, floodlights, tractor shed, sports equipment shed and new paths.

Harwich Town Council generally approved the plans, but did have some worries. Councillors felt the facility would be of value to schools and the community.

However, they added: "There are concerns about parking and access to the site if it is to be used by the general public, and there are concerns about the impact on neighbouring properties relating to the hours of operation."

The concerns will be reported to Tendring Council, which has the final say
