A concert is being staged on Saturday, July 3, to help raise funds for a trek to Peru being undertaken by grandmother Maria Smith from Chelmsford, in aid of the Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths (FSID).
The concert, by guitarist Rob Blackman, is taking place at Moulsham Mill in Parkway in Chelmsford starting at 8 pm. Admission is £5 and guests are asked to bring their own drinks.
Maria is organising a series of fund raising activities as part of her bid to support FSID.
The charity provided support after Maria's family experienced the trauma of cot death when her grandson Scott died in 2002.
Maria said, "The whole family was distraught with grief but we were blessed with the support of wonderful family and friends. We also found our strong Christian faith helped us through the worst and darkest moments.
"At some point I was given the contact details for the Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths.
"I wrote to them and found their response encouraging and comforting."
Maria's trek to Peru in aid of the FSID will take place in September.
Anyone who would like to buy tickets for Saturday's concert or support Maria in any of her fundraising efforts can call 01245 600343.
