The next phase in the £3m development programme for Clements Hall leisure centre in Hawkwell is due to start this week.
A new entrance will replace the temporary walkway customers have been using since January.
An extension with floor-to-ceiling glass has been created to house a reception with a turnstile system, cafe bar with open air seating, a poolside viewing area, enlarged creche and sports shop.
Since the development started in December 2003, the centre has seen some exciting changes, including the opening of a spa with luxury treatment rooms and the launch of the first phase of the gym.
The final stage will include the creation of changing rooms, an exercise studio and a spin studio using stationary bikes.
The development is due for completion by October, coinciding with the centre's 25th anniversary.
