George Borg hailed new Braintree Town skipper Bradley Quinton - then slapped a £50,000 price tag on him.

Quinton had a spell as captain of the Ryman League premier division club last season, but he was stripped of the armband after picking up three red cards.

However, new manager Borg believes the responsibility will spur him on the right way next season.

The appointment is ironic as the pair had a bust-up during a match last season when Borg was in charge of Hornchurch.

Borg explained: "Bradley started to control the game against us so I wanted to knock him out of his stride.

"I said a few things to him from the sidelines, he bit back and lostcontrol of his game.

"I think he's learned his lesson now and I want him to be responsible for my team out on the pitch."

"The good thing is, he's under contract at Braintree and he's going nowhere - unless someone is prepared to pay £50,000."
