With the varied weather conditions and the vast majority of anglers glued to the television it was surprising how many fish were still landed at Doggett's Rochford lake.
Terry Wheatley pulled out a haul of more than 70lb fished a feeder on the south bank with worm and corn hook bait.
During the evening Terry's bag was predominately roach with just a few good bream and tench.
Afer dark bream to six pounds dominated Terry's swim with worm being the best bait.
Rochford regular Ian Simmons who manages to fish most of the spare swims during one day, enjoyed sport with a reasonable number of tench and bream but topped his bag off with a 19lb mirror.
Carl Wood from Southend fished the short arm for a night and although the larger carp eluded him he was not disappointed with nine tench to 5.5lb numerous bream, roach, plus a 9lb common.
Darren Allaine from Leigh also fished a night for good size tench, bream and a 15.5lb mirror all from the North bank.
