A school is looking forward to a bright future, thanks to a name change and a newly-appointed headteacher.
It will be all-change for Tabor High School, in Panfield Lane, which will be known as Tabor Science College from September.
The title will reflect the secondary school achieving specialist science and maths status earlier this year.
Janey Avery, deputy headteacher at the school, said: "We are happy with the new name because it will reflect our new role, not just in the school but in the community."
As part of gaining specialist status, the school will receive £500,000 over three years in funding.
The school has appointed Steven Clark as its new headteacher. He is currently deputy headteacher at Colne Community School Brightlingsea and will be taking the new role in January 2005.
