Castle Combe race track in Wiltshire threw up an exciting weekend of Ford Formula Championship action with changeable weather and a circuit with plenty of overtaking opportunities.
Neil Doran, 20, from Chelmsford, saw his qualifying hampered by a lack of track time due to him having to miss a test day prior to the race weekend. Race one saw Neil starting back in 10th place.
After an impressive start he had made two places by the end of the first lap, but the race was stopped after an accident at turn one.
Doran took fifth place and the Scholarship class win, in less than ideal conditions.
Race two saw more bad weather as it rained hard from the word go. The final result saw Neil in sixth place and another Scholarship class win.
