Local line-ups have a tremendous record in this event over the years in a competition where the 12 top schools in the country do battle for the honours.
It's split into four sections, juniors and intermediates for both girls and boys.
At the regional final at Gloucester Park, Basildon, Southend high won the intermediate boys and Greensward College, Hockley, the juniors. On the girls' side Southend High took the intermediate crown.
Now, as a result of a rule which allows high-scoring losers from the regionals to make the final, along with B final winners, a number of other local teams will be making the trip.
Southend High are through in the junior girls and will be joined in both female events by Rayleigh's Fitzwimarc.
Southend High are out for the double as they made the junior boys alongside Greensward and, in the intermediate boys, Basildon's Chalvedon have gained a place alongside the Prittlewell Chase School.
On the boys' front, Greensward have the highest score in the country and expect one of their many Essex rivals, Southend High, Great Baddow and Campion, to provide their strongest challenge.
