Hullbridge A's Richard Brown pulled out all the stops to win his games in three straight legs and lead his team to a 6-3 win over Lentern A in the Premier Division of the Southend & District Table Tennis League.
His captain Ray Sutton narrowly missed his hat-trick when he lost the last game of the match in five sets to Lentern's Ian Rattray.
George Reeves and Lee Prentice were both unbeaten for Rawreth B in their 7-2 win over Rayleigh Mill.
