A rescue operation involving an RAF helicopter took place in Tollesbury after a man collapsed in his speedboat.
Just after 11am yesterday, Essex Air Ambulance, coastguards and an RAF helicopter were dispatched to Tollesbury Marina, in Woodrolfe Creek, following reports that a man had collapsed in his boat.
A spokesman for the coastguards said: "It is believed the man may have suffered a heart attack, as he has a history of heart problems."
The man, believed to be from the area, was located and then airlifted to Colchester General Hospital.
