A MAN died after a crash in Great Horkesley.
The 63-year-old was driving a silver Vauxhall Zafira along Boxted Road at about 8.50am yesterday when he was involved in a collision with a Scania articulated lorry.
Both vehicles over-turned in the crash, and the lorry's load - onions - spilled across the road and verge.
The car driver, who is from Suffolk, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The lorry driver, a 47-year-old man from the Hull area, was taken to Colchester General Hospital for treatment to slight injuries.
The road was closed for about eight hours while police carried out an initial investigation and the load was cleared from the carriageway.
Any witnesses should contact Stanway Road Policing Unit on 0300 333 4444.
