I would like to thank Clive Owen for his continued support of the Electric Palace cinema in Harwich.
Last Sunday my wife and I were lucky enough to attend the charity screening of his latest film the Boys Are Back (which isn’t released until January 22).
Thanks to both Mr Owen (who was there) and Miramax Films, the cinema trust was able to benefit from a successful evening.
In the characterless world of multiplex movie theatres, it is refreshing to have the patronage of a Hollywood star who has a genuine sense of nostalgia when it comes to one of Britain’s oldest, purposebuilt cinemas.
Clive’s performance is more than worthy of an Oscar nomination, but his continued support of The Electric Palace is priceless.
