STARS of a TV docu-drama will be guests of honour at a leprosy fundraiser in Colchester.
The Grewals, who went under the microscope in the Family, on Channel 4, have accepted an invitation from Colchester-based charity Lepra Health in Action to attend the event.
Lepra spokeswoman Nicolette Dawson said the organisation approached producers of the show through an online social networking site, to get in touch with the Grewals.
She said: “We first got in touch with the Family on Twitter. We posed a question regarding son-in-law Jeet’s puppetry performances in India.
“He is a professional puppeteer and we use puppetry in our health education projects in India and Latin America.
“It all went from there.”
The event, a Bollywood-style party to mark World Leprosy Day, will be held on January 28 at the River Lodge, close to Lepra’s head office in Middleborough.
The night will include Indian dancing courtesy of a Colchester group led by Susanna Harrington, plus a DJ and Indian-themed canapes.
Tickets start at £7 and are available by visiting www.
leprahealthinaction.org/events or from the River Lodge.
