Youngsters are having the time of their lives at a new sensory room at a children’s centre.
The facility, at the Sure Start centre in Langham Drive, Clacton, has the latest equipment, including optical light flooring, discovery boxes, and a sound-effects machine.
Sheena Baker, a development worker at the centre, said: “The idea is for parents and children to enjoy interacting together in a relaxing and calming atmosphere.”
The gadgets are all designed to stimulate youngsters’ senses.
Sheena added: “It’s really important, especially for early development. Straight away, children are aware of light and dark going on about them.
“It’s all about child-led play, rather than the child being led by adults, so they can choose what they want to play with.”
